The one and only Jimmy Shields gave up the one and only run last night in Seattle, but that was enough to make a loser of Hondo in the nightcap of his big dou ble-dipper. Fortunately Mr. Aitch was victorious in the opener, breezing with the Brewskis, so Hondow Jones closed up 35 for the day at 145 plesacs above sea level.

Tonight, vis a vis revisiting Volquez vs. Vazquez, aka the vanquisher vs. the vanquishee, he'll vie for victory again with Volquez. Ten units on the Reds.

Lefty Brian Tallet has allowed 20 base runners in 14 innings against Chicago, with a 4.91 ERA. The Sox are red hot after taking three of four from the defending AL champion Rays in St. Pete. The White Sox are home and goe with ace lefty Mark Buehrle, who has been sharp with a 2-0 record and a 3.00 ERA. He also sports a 2.66 ERA against the Blue Jays. Play the White Sox.

That includes a grand total of zero this season. Greinke is as good as it gets right now and he's also a solid 8-4 lifetime against the Tigers. Detroit's impressive rookie, Rick Porcello, has been outstanding thus far, but the Royals and Greinke have to rate the edge tonight.
